Year 5 have had a brilliant week back at school!

In Maths, they have enjoyed using protractors to measure angles and solve a range of mathematical problems.

As part of their new Geography topic, Coasts, the children used atlases to locate some of the most famous and beautiful coastlines around the world. They then read a variety of interesting facts and discussed both the human and physical features of these locations.

In English, everyone is thoroughly enjoying our work based on the wonderful book The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy and Jane Ray. The children have completed some excellent work identifying descriptive sentences, adding direct speech, and creating their own imaginative writing.

As part of our RHE (Relationships and Health Education), we explored the concept of the Trinity through drama and deepened our understanding of the Holy Spirit by reflecting on Jesus’ words and promises to his disciples, using key scripture passages.

A group of children also led a Celebration of the Word on the theme of discipleship. They read beautifully and shared some very thoughtful and meaningful messages.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
