Year 5 have had a wonderful end to a lovely half term. In RE, they had a brilliant lesson looking at how people volunteer in their local communities and how this is following Jesus' example. They researched a local charity and created some wonderful posters about the work the volunteers do.

In English this week, everyone has been writing letters to football teams persuading them to use Fairtrade footballs. Everyone has written lovely letters using all the devices they have been taught and their arguments for the use of Fairtrade footballs are fantastic.

As part of our music topic, the children performed three songs yesterday and got lots of applause from school staff (Hot Cross Buns was a firm favourite).

Together with their special friends, Year 5 led a wonderful Celebration of the Word to welcome their special friends to our wonderful school and to introduce them to Catholic Social Teaching. The children read and sang beautifully.

Have a wonderful and restful holiday.
