Welcome back to our class blog! We've had another exciting couple of weeks full of learning, fun activities, and new discoveries.

In Maths, we’ve been busy with measuring! We’ve been learning to measure objects in both centimetres using rulers and tape measures. The children loved exploring how long or tall things are in our classroom. We also compared lengths, using phrases like "longer than," "shorter than," and "equal to."

In Science, we’ve been investigating different materials and how they change shape when we twist, squash, bend, or stretch them. The children loved testing out materials like rubber bands, cubes, and paper, and observing how each material reacted. We had a great time squashing blue tack to see how it molds and stretching rubber bands to watch how they stretch out!

We even created a "material investigation chart" to record our findings and discussed why some materials can return to their original shape while others can’t. This was a very hands-on and fun experiment!

In PE, we’ve been learning to skip! We started with basic skipping steps, practicing with ropes and without ropes. It’s been fun to see how everyone is improving their coordination and balance. Skipping has turned out to be a fantastic way to keep our bodies moving, and we've enjoyed playing skipping games together.

Our class has had the wonderful opportunity to lead Celebration of the Word for the rest of the school. The children led the rest of the school in prayer, which was a lovely way for us to reflect and pray together.

We also learned about the Liturgy of the Word and spent some time sequencing the different parts of the Mass. The children worked in groups to put the liturgy in the correct order and shared their thoughts about the meaning behind each part. It was a meaningful and spiritual activity that helped deepen our understanding of the Mass.
