Year 2 had a fabulous day at the Rising Sun Country Park this week.
We started our day with some pond dipping. We were taught to use the ‘figure of eight’ technique when using our net in the pond.
We were quite successful and found a variety of different minibeasts in the pond.
We then went to the meadow, where we consolidated our learning on plants. We linked back to our work on different parts of a plant and what plants need in order to grow into healthy plants.
After lunch, we moved to the woodland habitat where we took part in a mini beast hunt and also spent time identifying the minibeasts we found. To end the day, we built minibeast hotels and released all the minibeasts we found back safely back into their natural habitat.
