Year 2 have made a great start to the spring term.
In English, our focus is persuasive writing. We have based our writing on the story, The day the crayons quit. In our sentence stacking sessions we have been writing to a group of pens who are refusing to come back to the classroom until conditions improve, our task is to persuade them to come back with the promise that things will change.
In science we have been learning about every day materials and finding out why some materials are more suitable for certain things than others.
In geography, we are learning about hot and cold climates and now know that Australia is in a hot region while Canada is in a cold region. Our next lesson will focus on an animal that survives in each climate.
In RE we are learning about books. We now know that the bible is split into the Old Testament and the New Testament and that there are four Gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
