Welcome back to a new and exciting term. I hope you have all had a great holiday.
We have made great start to 2023.
In English this week we have focused on reading and reading comprehension. We applied our VIPERS ((Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explaining, Retrieval, Sequence/Summarise) skills to answer a range of different questions.
Our new science unit this term is all about everyday materials and their properties. This week, we took part in a vocabulary hunt to become familiar with the vocabulary we will be using this week.
In RE we learned about the Epiphany. We read and retold the story of the 3 Wise Men and their journey to Bethlehem to visit Jesus recorded in St Matthew's Gospel.
In art, we used charcoal to draw and make marks. We drew what we thought words like soft, gentle, hard would look like. Using charcoal can be pretty messy but, thankfully, there wasn't a single black fingerprint to be found following our lesson!!
