We have had a fantastic week in Year 4! We have completed our modern takes of the traditional tale, Aladdin! Everyone's stories were absolutely wonderful and I am very proud of how much progress everyone is making with their writing! In Maths, we have continued our work on Fractions, and have been focusing on fractions greater than one!
In RE, we began to look at the states of a mass and began by focusing on the Introductory Rite and the Penitential Act! The children wrote some beautiful sorry prayers to be displayed in their books.
In Music, we began to look at the Japanese festival of flowers and discussed how we could use our voices and our bodies to show different words associated with cherry blossoms.
Thursday was World Book Day, and the children worked so hard to create our window display, all about Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp! The worked so hard and I was so impressed with our final product!
We ended our week with Art and PE. In Art, we looked at shade and tint and how by adding black or white to a colour, you can make them darker or lighter.
In PE, we began our unit on Stretch and Movement and the children were fantastic at moving their bodies to create mindful poses. We also had a lesson on Rugby, in which the children had great fun and worked excellently with each other!
Have a great weekend and I will see you all on Monday!
