This week Year 3 have embraced British Science Week with a host of different activities. We enjoyed taking part in the live science lesson all about invertebrates. Working in teams, we completed the escape room challenge. We designed farms of the future which all linked to work we have completed in both history and geography. Some of our ideas included: vertical planting, underground farming, using drones to water and spray the plants and using solar and wind power to power our farms.
In English, we have continued our writing unit based on 'The Magic Paintbrush' by Julia Donaldson. We explored different landscapes in Ancient China, role-played various events in the book and using prepositional phrases completed some brilliant sentences.
A group of children planned and led a lovely 'Celebration of the Word' linked to our Eucharist topic. The children chose the scripture, decorated our focal point and read beautifully.
